The Antigonish Arts Exchange is your hub for everything about our community’s exciting new Arts Centre. This project is a collaborative journey, sparked by a shared vision and fueled by community support.
The idea for a central arts space gained momentum from a convergence of needs: Aida Arnold’s desire to honour her late husband David Miller’s passion for the arts, the broader community’s call for a dedicated physical space to support local artists and cultural activities, and the need to find a new home for Festival and Theatre Antigonish as they prepare to say goodbye to the Bauer Theatre.
Part of this shared vision is a place for community, and that is where the Antigonish Art Exchange (AARTEX) fits in. Your thoughts, opinions and input are needed to truly make this an Arts Centre for the community.
Together, we’re working to turn this vision into a tangible reality. The Antigonish Arts Centre will be a modern, accessible, and inclusive space for theatre, visual arts, music, dance, film, and community gatherings. This vital project will encourage artistic creation and engagement for generations to come, strengthening the social, cultural, and economic well-being of Antigonish and the surrounding region.
